Microsoft is bringing Xbox and Xbox Game Pass apps together under one roof for iOS and Android users. With this move, players will be able to use the Xbox app to explore the Game Pass library, manage their subscriptions and enjoy subscription benefits.
Xbox and Game Pass apps converge on mobile
Game Pass Ultimate members will have direct access to all of these features with the updated Xbox app. The app is currently being tested in beta by Xbox Insiders and will be available to all users soon.
With this merger, starting in November, the Xbox Game Pass app will not allow new downloads. However, due to app store restrictions, access to cloud games will remain through the browser for now.
With this change, Microsoft aims to offer players a more complete experience. Discovering, downloading and interacting with games will now be possible through a single platform.
The move is in line with Microsoft’s strategy to bring its gaming services to a wider audience. The company recently announced the Xbox Game Pass Standard plan, which offers a multiplayer experience. With this cheaper plan, it became possible to access hundreds of games. Priced at 249 TL per month, this tier allows you to play hundreds of Xbox games
Integrating Game Pass features into the core Xbox mobile app makes it easier to access Microsoft’s subscription service and library of hundreds of games.
